Turtles Return To Nest On A Mumbai Beach For The First Time In 20 Years

For the first time in nearly two decades , a beach in Mumbai – one of the most populated cities in the world – is crawling with tiny baby turtles, proving that life truly does, uh, find a way. Versova beach stretches along the eastern side of Mumbai, looking out onto the Arabian Sea. While olive ridley turtles are known to nest on other beaches around India, this is the first time in close to 20 years that they have done so in Mumbai, with around 90 hatchlings making their way into the sea. What makes this story all the more amazing is that until around three years ago, Versova beach was a dump. Literally. Plastic washed up on the shore, people threw their trash onto it, and sewage pipes dribbled into the water. It was covered from the surf to sand in garbage that, by some reports, reached up to 1.7 meters ( 5.5 feet ) in depth in places. People didn’t swim in the ocean, they swam in plastic. Week 127 . Fantastic news for Mumbai . We got back Olive Ridley Sea Turtle after 20 ye

Hidden camera catches what mailman does to German shepherd – now clip is spreading like wildfire online

German shepherds so often get a bad rep. Many people see them as a dangerous and aggressive breed, but it’s always important to remember that what matters most is how a dog is raised by its owner. The video in this article, which has over 6 million views on Facebook, should remind people to never judge a book by its cover. Michael Collins lives with his dog Kyza, a German shepherd. According to Michael, Kyza is often misunderstood by strangers, with many people wary of him being aggressive because of his size. In actual fact, Kyza rarely even barks at strangers. It’s Michael’s belief that a dog’s upbringing has far more impact with regards to its behaviour, than its breed does. Sadly, there are others who don’t see it like that. So, when neighbourhood mailman Steve comes to deliver mail each day, he could be forgiven for being hesitant to approach the property when Kyza is roaming free in the front-yard. This is especially true since mail men and dogs can sometimes be at odd

NEWS: Animal Welfare Groups Declare War on Pug Advertising

Now vets and animal welfare groups have said enough is enough. They claim that the marketing is increasing demand for dogs with deformities. They have written a joint letter to the companies involved asking them to stop using these dogs, even cartoon versions, to prevent welfare crisis. Credit : The Register The animals’ faces have been so flattened and distorted by selective breeding that they suffer severe health problems, including breathing difficulties caused by restricted airways, eye disease and infections resulting from skin folds. Yet the popularity of brachycephalic, or flat-faced, breeds continues to rocket, aided by celebrity owners such by Lady Gaga, David Beckham and Holly Willoughby. The number of French bulldogs registered with the Kennel Club has increased 30-fold in ten years — from 670 in 2007 to 21,470 last year. Pug numbers have trebled and bulldogs doubled. But the first time she actually felt love, she knew this is all she wanted to be happy! Image Credit:  LoveMeow In Japan at 2 am of a rainy day, a man heard loud meows directly coming from the parking garage which was on the lower level. Animal abuse runs rampant, no matter where you go. There are always some people who are going to continue seeing animals as being beneath us and undeserving of the same freedoms and attention that humans want. Seeing animals suffer in such a way can break your heart. Image Credit:  Furry Nation Salvation That was the case for Holly Peppermint the tabby cat. She was forced to live outside in a bird cage, infested with fleas, and covered up so that she could be ignored by those that kept her. Food and water were being provided, but all this feline wanted was a little love.
