What sort of birds do you usually associate with docks and ports? Seagulls, maybe, or pelicans, or another species that tends to hang out around water? Well in Dutch Harbor in Alaska, the most common bird you’ll find is a bald eagle! Yes, that’s right! And it’s all thanks to commercial fisherman Jessie Peek. This amazing guy feeds fish scraps to the immense flock of birds gathered around the dock. He hand feeds them easily and watches as they happily pick up yummy bits of fish as a little snack! If that wasn’t incredible enough, after he’s done, he takes the camera and shows us the huge number of eagles perched on every imaginable surface around the dock. There are so many of them; it’s such a rare sight! We have all seen those hilarious videos of dogs or cats taking baths. Cats hang on to the soap dish for dear life as they get all soapy! Some cats sing a mournful song of displeasure the whole time! Many dogs enjoy bathing – but some wait until they are at their soapiest to make a mad dash for the door! Or they shake their bodies, and we see the water just drench the person giving the bath! I can’t say I have ever seen a human help a bird take a bath! Tweety the goldfinch takes a shower in his human’s hands! Once the water is running, Tweety hops over and bathes! Tweety starts off slowly, but quickly gains momentum and finishes with gusto! Take a look at this video! Tweety did an excellent job getting clean! I don’t think he missed anything! Most kids love to take baths! The bubbles and toys and splashing fun! There isn’t anything wrong with an adult taking a bubble bath now and again! Animals take baths too – many animals bathe themselves, like elephants. But domestic animals, usually need our help! Most dogs and cats will tell you that bath time is not their favorite activity! But Lollypop the parrot seems to not only enjoy her shower – but she likes to talk, tweet, and sing her way through the whole thing! Prepare yourself for nonstop bird talk. Lollypop quickly goes from mimicking other animals to singing a line from a popular TV show – and back again! Take a look at this video! Lollypop just needs to hear the words “Bad Bird” from her mom before launching into the theme from the TV show Cops! Mom tries to get Lollypop to ‘be an eagle’ – but Lollypop has other ideas! LOL! Sometimes animals that are born with physical disabilities have an extra-hard time surviving and making it to adulthood. A lot of the time that is because their families reject them. Such is the case with Benjamin, a Lovebird who was born with splayed legs that made it incredibly difficult for him to walk. He siblings rejected him and didn’t want anything to do with him. Luckily, Benjamin was born in captivity, so while his family paid him no mind, he still got the attention he deserved. It took a very long time, but eventually Benjamin was able to learn how to walk, and now he is a fully recovered, healthy, and fully grown Lovebird. This entire process was captured on film, over the whole course of Ben’s recovery, and you can watch his transformation over the course of the four minute video below. Take a look at this video! A recent interaction between a Cuckatoo bird and a women filming it shows a new side to how animals respond to being watched. The women was engaging in a phone call when she is interrupted by the going ons of the caged bird nearby. She of course proceeded to film said rude bird as she attempted to abate it’s talking. The bird seemed to become entranced with the idea of putting on a show however and proceeded to dance it’s way, quite acrobatically, up the side of it’s cage. From his new position the bird then began to sing in a way reminiscent of an onstage performer. When the woman insists on the bird putting his performance to a halt he is visibly displeased and expresses it with a turn back to the camera! Take a look at this video! The woman clearly didn’t know great showmanship and the bird knew quite well the one thing show business must always adhere to. The show must go on! Share away, people!

This woman was busy talking and someone was busy recording her, but she had no idea that while she looked away a naughty bird pooped on her ice cream! When she looked back at the camera, the cameraman was probably about to tell her that a bird had pooped on her ice cream, but it was too late because she quickly ate it! I know!! I’m not sure whether she felt a change in taste, but it looks like she did make a tiny face. But that’s not the only thing this bird had in mind! Watch what the naughty bird does next! I’m not sure whether this is fake or not, but all I know is that I’m going to always eat chocolate ice cream so I know if someone has tempered with it! Nothing is stranger than those large flightless birds. They date back to prehistoric times, and are actually kind of mean if you encroach on their territory. Emus are some of the weirder birds, as they’re much smaller than an ostrich but are still capable of defending themselves quite well. So what happens when a weasel ball is tossed into an emu’s enclosure? If you don’t know what a weasel ball is, it’s a fake weasel that’s attached to a battery-operated ball that rolls around on its own so it looks like the weasel is chasing it. The large birds don’t know what to make of it at first, and they hope around it to get out of its way. Even the ostrich joins in. Take a look at this video! But once the batteries run out, they find the courage to scope out the strange thing, pecking at it with their large beaks. Share away, people!

Taking a catnap is the highlight of any feline’s day. Especially if there’s a good spot of sun around to lounge in, it can be the best feeling in the world. But some naps are meant to be interrupted, and not many are in this adorable way. This cat’s taking a wonderful nap on a wooden mat, with a cute little bird in the foreground. It seems the little birdie’s bored, because he soon wanders up to the feline and starts tapping the cat’s face. Didn’t anyone tell him that cats eat creatures like him for breakfast? Seems not, as even when the cat tries to pull away and go back to sleep, the bird doesn’t seem to get the hint. Take a look at this video! He offers a little bit of grooming to the cat’s paws, but he doesn’t want that either. Eventually, the cat stops trying to get the bird to leave him alone and accepts his fate. Share away, people!

The small birds that we see in our feeders every day can be quite interesting to watch, and we can easily forget just how wide the range of sizes birds can come in. From chickadees to ostriches and everything in between, birds are actually quite diversified. The harpy eagle is no exception to this, and this remarkable bird has a lot going for it. The harpy eagle is considered the large, most powerful eagle in the world. It can grow to at least 42 inches long and have tremendously large feet to support that weight. Birds have a way of showing off their true colors, depending on the way the light is facing. Their feathers may look dull at one angle, and then be a sparkling array of hues from a different angle. The male hummingbird is no different, especially with the wonderful feathers that are on its neck. Even the smallest turn of his head gives us a wonderful display of the colors that he uses to attract the females. It almost looks like a special effect that’s been added after the video recording, but the display is 100% natural, and not something that can be copied very easily. Take a look at this video!
