On January 14, a two-year-old handsome Boxer was surrendered to the Baldwin Animal Shelter in California. According to the volunteer advocate for this boy, this dog is friendly and loves to be petted. Sadly, this boy has been categorized as "rescue only," and the reason has animal advocates extremely angry. According to Animal Control, the dog had been in his kennel and an unknown person had been kicking the dog's cage repeatedly. The dog continued to be teased and taunted, and when the person stuck his finger in the cage, the dog nipped at the person's finger. Now labeled "rescue only" this gorgeous dog may lose his life. Volunteer Sal Valapena, who spends much of his spare time interacting with the rescue dogs, had this to comment: "What a beautiful dog. He's friendly and wanting to be petted. So even though it wasn't his fault he will pay for it with his life. Please tag rescues who can help rebuild his broken heart and defeated spirit....

The 2015 study, conducted by the CPA in partnership with Subaru of America, used weighted dog and cat dummies in the tests. No live animals were harmed.
