When you go to England’s Twycross Zoo you’ll see their nine-year French bulldog, who has become a celebrity for obvious reasons! Source:  Uzoo / YouTube You see, this little guy has forever looked after the zoo’s orphaned animals, but recently he made headlines all over the world for becoming extra caring and extra loving to a little someone special – Malone, a six-year old orangutan who was abandoned by his mother. Check out this video below: Of course when this adorable little orangutan becomes a bit older, he will join the other orangutans in the zoo, but for now he seems quite happy to be in Bugsy’s safe and loving paws! Just when you thought apes and dogs can’t get along, this English bulldog appears to put all myth to rest! I only hope that Malone will be allowed to see Bugsy when he joins his fellow orangutans!

If you live in a rural area, or near the woods, you’ve probably witnessed a wildfire or two. It can definitely get scary if that fire gets too close to your home, but imagine how absolutely terrifying it is for the animals who actually live there! The forest, or jungle is their home, and the fire displaces entire groups of creatures. This has to be the single most devastating event in their lives. Well, this happened to this orangutan, who was found by the people at International Animal Rescue (IAR) on a burned out banana plantation. This 20-year-old orangutan needed months of therapy and care in order to recover completely, and while it had been a long journey to full recovery, he was finally ready to go back to the forest. Promulgating the population of endangered species can take some time. Animals have very selective mating processes that we really shouldn’t interfere with. But in order to maintain their population numbers, some other means have to be taken. And that’s how Artie came into this world. He’s the first baby orangutan to be born through artificial reproduction technology. This is a saving grace, given the populations of orangutans have been going down over the years due to deforestation and poaching. The aim of the LEO Zoological Conservation Center in Connecticut is to use this technology to increase the diversity of orangutans being born so that when they’re returned to the wild, they can continue to increase their numbers on their own. Much has been written about the plight of orangutans clinging to life in the dwindling forests of Indonesia. But where words fail, a single image can say so much. Volunteers from International Animal Rescue (IAR) have been working on the ground in Borneo to save the lives of animals affected by a massive wildfire ravaging the island's forests. The group recently came to the rescue of a desperate orangutan and her baby — victims not only of the blaze, but of human cruelty as well. "They were forced out of their forest home as a result of the fires and ended up in a village. The villagers were frightened and threw things at the terrified mother before attempting to capture and tie her up," IAR wrote in a post online . "Fortunately our team got to her just in time."
