When you walk into a shelter for dogs, you instantly see a lot of dogs, all perhaps living with the hopes that maybe someday someone will come for them. Of course and I believe that, but it was this particular dog who got picked instead.  You know what this post will prove to you? It will prove that a picture is worth a million words. Truly, this has given me hope! This photo went so viral than it literally saved this little pup’s life. How? Dogs are loving and loyal. They bond to their humans and never want to leave them. But not all humans bond with their dogs. Two dogs in Florida were stranded in a parking lot when they’re owner left them to fend for themselves. Witnesses say that the dogs spent most of their time sitting in one spot. After a long, agonizing saga of being lost and found, a Shetland Sheepdog has finally been reunited with its rightful owner. "You're home baby," sobbed 71-year-old Sharon Robinson as hugged her Sheltie named Tipsy. "Oh, Tipsy," she said as INSIDE EDITION documented the joyous, and tearful, moment. The Stocton, California, woman had been searching for her beloved miniature Collie since the dog disappeared in December from her home. The dog did not have a collar or microchip. She and her husband, Larry, 73, had been out of town when her son called to say Tipsy had somehow escaped from the couple's fenced-in yard. The loss was heartbreaking, said Robinson, noting that her days were marked by crying in the morning and crying every night. Every day we hear a story about dogs that constantly get abused or stolen, and it’s heartbreaking. People are so heartless nowadays, stealing dogs to get money, and who knows what else. It makes me sick to my stomach when I hear a new story everyday about another dog that has been abused or abandoned by his owner, or just stolen, leaving his owner heartbroken and hopeless. But as always, we should never lose hope, because one day, we will get back what we once lost, somehow and someday. Duffy is an Irish Terrier who had been facing a ton of very serious medical issues. Rescuers learned within a few days that not only was he blind, but he also suffered from canine diabetes. Fortunately for the Duffster, doctors were able to get his diabetes under control. However, no one was sure whether he’d ever actually be able to see his new family. So, his compassionate new parents decided to take matters into their own hands, investing in surgery that just might give Duffy the chance to use his eyes again. And guess what? It worked. An elderly mountain lion who spent his life chained to the back of a truck has finally gotten a taste of freedom. Mufasa the mountain lion was rescued from an illegal Peruvian circus earlier this year. Likely sold into the exotic pet trade as an infant, he had spent 20 years being carted around from village to village and forced to perform. Lacking even the comfort of a cage, when he wasn't performing he would be locked up and chained in the open bed of a truck, where he'd curl up behind the tent poles to sleep. "It was heartbreaking to see Mufasa chained among the circus equipment, living on the back of a pickup truck," Jan Creamer, president of Animal Defenders International (ADI), said in a statement. "A heavy harness and chains were wrapped around his body and as we cut them away, he stretched, free, for the first time." At the time, Creamer described the scene as "the most sad, wretched thing that you've ever seen," noting that...

The strong bond between cats and dogs amaze me more and more each day, they are best friends, it’s not true that there is enmity between them, it’s completely wrong, and this story proved it. This dog is living with the cat in the same home, sadly, the dog was very sick, so his owner took him to the vet. Caleb Howard suffered a traumatic brain injury from a head-on car collision when he was just 6 years old. His parents had almost lost all hopes of his recovery when Colonel stepped in as his therapy dog. This video shows how Colonel has helped Caleb recover. Shelters can be the first step on a dog's journey to a new home — but for so many dogs, the wait is almost unbearable. A 2-year-old Chihuahua was found wandering around a McDonald's parking lot in California, running in the path of cars. Many people tried to catch the little guy to no avail. When an animal control officer arrived to help, he was having trouble, too, and it looked as if the dog would never be caught. A concerned passerby, Rose Gallardo, saw the dog running away from the officer and decided to try and help. "The officer was trying to catch him by feeding him, but the dog was too smart and kept running through the parking lot," Gallardo told The Dodo. She got out of her car, knelt down near the dog and held out her hand — and somehow got him to come over and let her pet him. My father lived alone, so I decided to buy him a little dog, something to look after and to love, take for walks and get a bit of exercise. I got a shih tzu, they are good companion dogs and it was the only suitable breed the pet shop had. Before the day came to give him his gift I toilet trained the little thing, first getting him to do his biz on newspapers then moving the papers to the door then outside. He got the message eventually. When he had an accident he'd hide under the bed in shame and have to be coaxed out. People that really care about animals and other people are always developing new and extremely innovative ways to help the handicapped overcome their disability and live a full and happy life. No one realized that the tuxedo colored ten-day-old kitten could not walk until a family from South Carolina adopted the cat and his siblings. The family and their friends at Friends of the HCACC made a plea on the internet for help to get the kitten they named Tiny Tim back on all of his feet. Tini Tim was the little boy that could not walk in Dickens story "A Christmas Carol". Volunteers from a company called SubProto that deals in experimental technology design created a suit and a set of wheels for Tiny Tim. Meet Nicolas, a 3-legged puppy with the most touching story ever: Nicolas met his current owner when he was just a week old and the smallest of his 8 pitbull siblings. His mom ate 3 of them and while she was in the process of eating him too, his now owner, aleovir, managed to rescue and take care of him. The most touching part of the story, though, is that aleovir’s cats kind of “adopted” Nicolas as the proud owner has shared lovely pictures of them hugging the puppy and sleeping with him in order to protect him! “He was super tiny and without his mum to care for him and with his injury he didn’t have a good prognosis. But after days of 24/7 care with lots of help from my cats and my other 5 dogs he turned into a lovely dog. So I wanted to show a bit of our journey,” the animals’ owner explains. Adorable!

Hope For Paws is one of the most amazing rescue organizations in the world. They have rescued and found homes for countless abandoned animals in need. This poor homeless dog was in a terrible state when she was rescued Hope For Paws had been informed about her severely matted fur, and when they witnessed her condition themselves, they couldn’t tell if she was a male or a female. Dolly was visibly frightened of the unexpected strangers, and every time they tried to approach her, she would growl at them. This vet recorded an incredible tribute to one of his tiniest patients. Broken the kitten arrived at Carlos Rodriguez's veterinary practice last week after being abused by a group of children. They had thrown and kicked the little kitten around like a ball, leaving her with terrible injuries. They broke her femur and completely destroyed her abdominal wall — the first time Rodriguez had ever seen such damage. Sadly, after a week of treatment and multiple surgeries, Broken passed away. And Rodriguez captured his incredible response on camera. The video isn't in English, but his message is perfectly clear.
