Elephants are known to be very intelligent animals. They are very social creatures. They have been observed mourning the loss of a member of their herd. Momma elephants will attack if their babies are threatened. Elephants are listed as a threatened species by the IUCN. So, what would you do if you saw an enormous elephant running down the street? Well, the authorities in this video set up a road block and gave her some space. It was soon clear what she was doing! After she chases the guy on the bike, it seems like she is making sure the coast is clear, and it isn’t long before we see what she wants to do. More than 500 species of sharks have been discovered living in oceans around the world. Sharks can give birth to live babies, like humans do, or they lay eggs. The brownbanded bamboo shark’s eggs look like a turtle’s shell! Brownbanded bamboo shark has barbels around their mouths that look like whiskers on a cat, so it belongs to a group called cat sharks. The video shows the birth of a baby brownbanded bamboo shark! It is common for the sharks to have difficulty emerging from the egg, so the guy is helping the shark by cutting away at the egg! Wow! What an amazing creature! So unique! Before you jump in the car to go get one – do some research, they require a lot of room. Okay I’ve personally NEVER seen this happening and it gives me an idea, but some part of me feels that this could be wrong. Imagine what could happen if the balloon burst under the cat? Would they be hurt? Frightened, possibly? Oh well. This cat is just too fuzzy and because of all that fuzz he’s become static. Literally. So what exactly happened? This cat found a balloon to play with, and he did too, but when he was done, he wanted to go concentrate on something else. But how? The balloon won’t leave him alone! Everywhere he went, the balloon followed, not just followed it was literally stuck to him because of static! Pet owners know the dangers of having your pet stay outdoors for extended periods of time. If they are not penned or chained up, they can be hit by a car or get lost. Many cats and dogs grew up indoors and don’t know how to survive outdoors, they could be susceptible to predators, snakes, hawks, or other neighborhood pets that run loose. Even if you decide your pets can go outside, you still worry about their safety. The woman in this video is a mom to many cats, some of the cats like to be outdoors, but she was concerned about them. So, she built a covered bridge type system for her cats to use! Some of us call it ‘making biscuits.’ It is when cats appear to knead a pillow, each other, or their humans. But why do cats do this? According to animalplanet.com, like kittens, they had to knead the area around their mother’s nipples to stimulate milk flow. Basically, they then were rewarded for the behavior, and they continue this practice in the hopes of getting a treat! Some believe that kneading is instinct, ancestors to modern cats would trample grass to make a bed, and modern cats may replicate this behavior to claim an area as their own. Coming face to face with wildlife is a thrilling, thrilling moment, trust me! Can you imagine what it must feel like to be so close to a dangerous predator? Take an example of Francie Lubbe, a woman who spent the night in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in Botswana recently. She woke up to see two lions licking water off her tent! Or this photographer who was so busy he didn’t notice a bear sneak up on him! This is the story of a man called Paul Nicklen who was photographing wildlife in the Antarctic when suddenly he came face to face with one of the most dangerous creatures – a leopard seal. Obviously the man was terrified and didn’t know how to react, but instead of running away, he did what most people wouldn’t! Check out this video! Baby goats, or kids, are adorable. Most baby animals are, in case you haven’t noticed. Some baby goats live in wonderfully happy conditions, like these two kids who are dressed in impossibly cute pajamas while they run around and get ready for bed. But, not all kids get such good lives. Six months ago a very special kid was born, and for quite some time it looked like he wasn’t going to live very long. He was born with only two front legs. Amazingly, though, the kid managed to pull through, and he learned how to get along in life. His is quite the story, and you can learn oh so much more about it by checking out the video below! We all know that humans sometimes take time to care for animals in need. We see stories about it everywhere, and many of us probably spend some of our time volunteering to care for animals. But what some people might not know is that animals take their time to care for one another, too. Pumpkin is a cat with a huge heart. She lives at an animal shelter, and she also works there full time. When new animals come in, all scared and sad, Pumpkin spends time with each of them. She curls up next to the new arrivals and gives them cuddles and love. This reminds those animals that no matter how hard life can get, they will always find love somewhere. Take a look at this video! Pumpkin is a very special cat indeed, and it’s hard to imagine how big of an impact she must have of the lives of animals that are arriving at her shelter. Every time I see a pet that’s learned some amazing skill or trick, it really inspires me to step up my game and work more heavily with my lovely animals. This German Shepherd, Baron, is the most recent animal to inspire me to try and teach my dogs some nifty stuff. If I could teach my dogs how to do this, I think that everyone I know would be pretty impressed. What is it that Baron can do so well? He can use a toilet like a human being! I know, I find it hard to believe to, but Baron stands up in front of the toilet and pees just like an ordinary human male. It’s almost surreal to see, but see it you can in the video below. Just because puppies are cute and cuddly, tiny and fragile doesn’t mean they aren’t tough. They are, some people just overlook it. Meet Dillon, an 11 year old labrador pup who just came out of a spinal surgery and like other pups he couldn’t walk,sit, play or run. All he could do was lie on the ground and imagine those glorious days when he could do all that he couldn’t now. The surgery was necessary, but he had to give up his mobility. Both Dillon and his family were devastated and heartbroken and for weeks they carried him around in a sling. Life wasn’t like what it used to be, but his family wasn’t going to give up. They wanted to make sure Dillon feels happy again. So they brought him to the Yorkshire Vet Physio . Take a look at this video! Now I’m sure you don’t quite understand what I’m talking about, but let me tell you, if there’s one animal, beside a dog, who’s really protective of her babies, its a cat. How many of you agree? This cat here is going to force you to see cats in an entirely different way. What started out on the pavement, ended up on a thin branch, ended up epic. This cat started climbing a tree, not by herself, but with her baby IN her mouth. Yes and if you keep watching till the end, a few seconds before the end, your heart is going to skip a bit. This cat climbs up the tree with such courage, such determination and such will that by the end of the video I wish she had an Oscar. Take a look at this video Tell me you watched this till the end! Warning : Graphic Video! Lola was a dog in horrendous need and pain. Her stomach and been split open, and it wasn’t likely that she would live. Then, just when she least expected it, rescuers arrived on the scene. They pulled up in their car, and Lola more than likely felt a burst of relief as she knew that someone, anyone, was arriving who could save her life. The rescuers managed to shut her wounds and pull her away from the scene. Because of them Lola is going to live for a long time now. She has a whole new out look on life after being through such a terribly painful ordeal, but that is only going to make her stronger in the long run. This is an amazing and inspiring story. Kenny Bass bravely served our country in Iraq. There he was severely injured by an IED. When he returned home, Kenny was suffering from PTSD, hearing loss, and Behcet’s disease. Kenny tried to manage the conditions on his own, but nothing he did seemed to mitigate their effects. He eventually was prescribed and managed to raise funds for Atlas, a service dog. Atlas was trained to help deal with PTSD and many other issues, and his effect on Kenny was both immediate and profound. Very soon Kenny began to return to the world around him, and he decided that he wanted to help others who are in situations like his. Take a look at this video So now, Kenny has paired with Marine Joshua Rivers, and expert Jon Campbell, to found the Battle Buddy Foundation, which provides service dogs to veterans free of charge. When I think of Costa Rica, I think of a lush tropical landscape that’s always warm, with some of the best sightseeing on earth. Surrounded by both the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, this huge garden is almost like heaven on earth, and I have never assumed it could get any better. Boy, was I wrong! Humans aren’t the only ones to suffer from forest fires. The animals who live there also lose their homes and livelihood, with no way of foraging for food or getting to safety. Many of the animals who endure forest fires don’t survive, but sometimes a miracle can happen. Freddy the tortoise was caught in a forest fire and ended up with burns on her front legs and all over her shell. She had been starving for as long as forty-five days before she had been found and taken in to be provided with medical attention. Over the next few days, pieces of her shell started to fall off, and she ended up suffering with pneumonia twice. However, a Brazilian 3D designer, Cicero Moraes, decided to use the power of printing technology to make Freddy a new shell. Take a look at this video! It’s very easy to get rid of the runt because some people “know” they won’t survive. But here’s the thing – a runt may be the weakest, but that does not mean they won’t survive. With love, care and medical attention, they can be stronger than the rest, trust me. This is the story of an 11 year old girl called Breana Carsey and her dream to be a racing champion. She always wanted to raise a horse so she could fulfill her dream and so she waited for five years for her parents to agree to her idea and help her fulfill her dream. However, when her horse runt was born, nobody believed in him, only Breana did. Her dad wanted to sell the runt off, but Breana refused to do so and instead kept it, raised it and called it MJB Got Faith. What happened next is a miracle. There’s something to be said for the markings that animals have on their bodies. They can be quite unique, and some of them even look like something else. This particular marking will simply blow your mind away. This chestnut foal is really two horses in one. He isn’t a twin, so what’s the answer to this mystery? Look carefully at the marking along his neck. It looks exactly like the silhouette of a horse! He was born at the Flying Hall riding school in North Yorkshire, and has been named “Da Vinci.” His mother was bought at an auction, not knowing she was pregnant, so the owner got to have two horses for the price of one as well. What makes this even more special is that the foal also has a white heart-shaped marking on his behind. At only seven weeks old, the foal is extremely friendly and loving to his owner, as well as the owner’s children. Who knows if this marking is going to shape much the older he gets, as horses’ necks tend to get much larger and thicker as they age....

They always say that music can tame any savage beast, and although elephants are extremely dangerous, they’re not exactly savage. So what happens when you start playing some violin music for them? The Belgium Royal Chamber Orchestra was invited to the zoo to play for the animals, and while not all of them appreciated the tunes, the elephants were simply entranced. They move closer to the fence to try and get a better look at the instruments and take in the full quality of their sound. Then the unbelievable happens. They start swaying in time to the music being played, and even sway their trunks in the air. They don’t seem to want to move from the spot, and are happy to grab a meal while they watch the two violinists at work. Evolution can create the creepiest creatures, and nothing’s more creepy than the ones that live in the oceans. Because there is very little interaction between sea animals and humans, many of them haven’t been influenced by the course of events of history. That’s why many of them still look like prehistoric creatures out of time. And the ghost shark is definitely one of those. Native to Australia and New Zealand, these bizarre sharks are definitely interesting to look at, if not a little creepy. It’s also known as the elephant shark because of the floppy skin that hangs from the front of its face. It uses this “proboscis” to root out small animals in the sand that it uses as food. When you’re at your worst, it can feel lonely when you’re recovering. You don’t have anyone to talk to, and other people have to get on with their days. But not our pets. They’re always there for us when we need them the most. Lazarus the cat took his job as healer very seriously when her owner broke his leg. What makes this story even more charming is that the family had rescued the kitten from being frozen in the snow and gave him a second chance at life. Now he gets to pay that forward to his owner, with snuggles and purring to help his fur dad heal.
