A female tourist in Macedonia has appeared in several pictures, where she drags a swan out of a lake in order to pose for pictures with the struggling bird. The woman, reportedly from Bulgaria, grabbed the white bird by the wing and dragged it onto the shoreline of Lake Ohrid, south-western Macedonia. She posed with it and then dumped it on the floor, leaving the creature to die on the beach. When the unidentified woman had her fill of photographs, she left. They described how the swan did not react to the woman walking up to it, as the birds are used to tourists visting the town of Ohrid. Despite the clearly upset swan struggling against the woman and trying to leave her grip, she did not let go. This is the story of a woman called Sheila Lawrence, who her husband nicknamed “feeder” because of her love to feed all kinds of birds. But Sheila also had another nickname – the “Swan Lady” as she used to feed hundreds of swans on the Mississippi for 25 long years. Sheila would walk all the way to the river banks and feed the swans, but five years ago, something terrible happened. Sheila, who was diagnosed with cancer, passed away, but before she passed away, she made her husband promise that he’d feed the swans for her.
