Every September, the Barnesville-Lamar County Chamber of Commerce in Georgia hosts a greased pig chase.  For hours, one by one, terrified piglets are brought into an arena and thrust towards mobs of screaming children  who run after them grabbing and clawing to try to be the first one to "claim" the pig. After being roughly handled, the pigs are chased by children, teens, and young adults who pile on them with their full body weight. Pigs suffer emotionally and physically as they are  body-slammed to the ground and their limbs, ears, and tails, are yanked, bent backward, and twisted by the frenzied crowd. GARP documented the event workers slamming the pigs down, slapping them, and spitting on them in front of the crowd. Patricia the pig was so happy when her caretaker and her daddy brought new wood shavings in her pen. At first she didn’t know why he brought them, but when he opens the bad, she immediately perks up and begins rolling around like a little child! Her daddy brought not one, but two bags of wood shavings and she couldn’t contain her excitement! Residing in Santuario Gaia, Spain, Patricia’s life hasn’t always been this happy. The pink fluff was born on a factory farm and was soon abandoned there. She became paralyzed after her mom’s crate accidentally fell on her legs. Suffering from a spinal cord injury, the farm wanted to put her down, but the sanctuary stepped in to give her a second chance to life! Take a look at this adorable video! Meet Tink, a dachshund dog, and surprisingly, this dachshund dog is fostering a pig with her baby dachshund puppies. This dachshund dog is taking care of the baby pig and feeding him like her babies. The dachshund dog adopted the abandoned pig and raised him with her little ones. Your first look at a Mangalica (Mangalitsa in the U.K.) pig is probably going to lead to a second, and a third ... and more.
