Dog with different coloured eyes rejected by hundreds of potential owners

A dog has been rejected by hundreds of potential owners because he has different coloured eyes.
Five-year-old Mickey has been at the Dog Trust's rehoming centre in West London for over six months.

Staff believe his unusual glassy blue eye must be the reason he is constantly overlooked.

Mickey is a happy, healthy dog but was born with one blue eye, simply due to less pigment, and a brown eye.

The condition is known as Heterochromia in humans and it doesn't affect his sight.

The team at Dogs Trust Harefield, London, are now hoping that a new owner will go starry eyed over Mickey and give him the loving home he deserves.

Richard Moore, Rehoming Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Harefield said:

Mickey is a fun- loving, cheeky and affectionate character with a fantastic personality and we are baffled as to why so many people have overlooked him since he has been with us.

Sadly we find some people will overlook dogs with the slightest quirks so we hope a new owner will see beyond his unusual eyes and offer him a happy home.

He is a sociable boy who would love to live with another dog and can live with children over 12.

We think Mickey's beautiful blue eye is really striking - he is a dog in a million and we really hope he catches the eye of a loving new owner soon.
