A WIENER DOG STAMPEDE MAKES HEINZ'S NEW SUPER BOWL AD GREAT

Whether you're a football fan or not, you can get behind the time-honored traditions of destroying party spreads with your mouth and watching great commercials throughout the Super Bowl. This year is shaping up to be no exception with the release of a new spot from Heinz, featuring a stampede of adorable wiener dogs dressed as, well, wieners. The snack spread part is on you (or your host).

An extended cut of the commercial posted to YouTube on Sunday shows dozens of dachshunds dressed up as hot dogs, scampering through a meadow before leaping into the arms of people in Heinz product costumes. Meanwhile, a rendition of "Without You" plays in the background during the grand embrace. And as Mashable reports, the point of the ad is to highlight Heinz's lineup of products beyond just ketchup. The classic condiment company will air a shorter version of the commercial during the third quarter of the Super Bowl.

In a video released this in July, a baby rhino named Davi cries for his mother after she was shot and killed by poachers. Most rhinos spend at least three years with their mothers before weaning, the Dodo reports, but Davi’s childhood was cut short at just 8 months old.
