I have been at the Downey Animal Care Center since January 31, 2016. I am available on January 31, 2016. You can visit me at my temporary home at D612." A volunteer sadly reports the following: "On a personal note; one of the most defeated dogs I have ever seen. Nothing would get him to stand up, not even treats. He was wide awake but he's completely given up. His family that was supposed to love him, abandoned him." A Facebook page for Sammie can be found here. Sammie is reported to be a very sweet dog who has taken a "liking" to one of the women and crawls up into her lap whenever he sees her. Volunteers and the staff are working with Sammie, and these compassionate friends don't give up easily.
Please share Sammie's plight with approved rescue organizations, family, friends, and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives, and every life is important. Be a responsible pet owner and make sure you can commit to a lifetime of care and love before bringing a pet into your life. One look at Sammie's face is a sad reminder of all the abandoned, surrendered and neglected pets waiting for their families to return. Tragically that rarely happens.
