Dog fighting is a terrible practice that can leave animals physically and emotionally scarred. No one knows why people would be involved in such a horrible activity, but there’s been some small progress in trying to curtail them. With the lengthy sentences that are also being faced as a result, more and more people are considering stopping them altogether.
But the animals are still the ones that suffer in the progress. All they know is a world of fear and pain, as well as the risk of death if they don’t succeed. Sienna Rose was rescued from a dog fighting ring covered in scars and also missing part of her nose.
It’s a horrible sight to see, and it’s likely she may never get to do some of the normal parts of a dog’s life ever again, but that doesn’t mean she should be given up on.
When she was taken in by Second Chance Rescue, they also discovered that she was completely blind in one eye and partially blind in the other.
But despite her condition, she can still eat and drink on her own, giving her some kind of independence.
After a few surgeries, they managed to reconstruct some of her face so that her teeth wouldn’t be exposed.
Every day since her surgery, she’s been recovering a little more and her tail wags just a bit harder when she sees the people who took care of her.
