It’s a common belief that fish don’t have feelings or even care much about the things around them. All they want to do is swim around and find food. But this video proves that fish are capable of some compassion when it comes to their friends being trapped.
A puffer fish had been caught in a net, and rather than continuing to swim away, his buddy stayed by his side the entire time. It was only by sheer luck that these swimmers came by and noticed the fish’s plight. Using a piece of glass to cut the net free from his body, the swimmer was taking a risk, as puffer fish can use the spines covering their skin to generate a painful sting.

Thankfully, the fish seemed to know what was up, and once it was free, his buddy continued to swim right along beside him to make sure that he was okay. Share away, people!
