Moms have tough jobs when it comes to keeping their kids happy and safe. Animal mothers have a much harder time than human ones, as their children develop a lot faster. There are also predators out there who wouldn’t mind making meals out of their children, so they have to do everything they can to ensure that they have the skills to survive.

And as this video evidence shows, that entails a lot more than just fighting back. Knowing when to run away can be beneficial too, and trees can offer the safe haven these raccoon needs to live for another day. Here, we can see a mother trying to show its baby how to climb.
