Being an orphaned wild animal can be a strange experience. Your life is turned completely upside down, you’re surrounded by these large creatures you’ve never seen before, and you’re in a strange place that doesn’t smell anything like home.
For this baby porcupine, his circumstances were for the best, as he was taken in by the Fort Rickey Discovery Zoo. He hadn’t met another porcupine since he’d been brought in, and the staff wanted to make sure that he got as much interaction with his own kind as he could. Named Quilliam, he was introduced to an older porcupine named Widget, and the bond was instantaneous.
