When you think of police dog, you imagine the German Shepherd with a vest on. But things are slowly changing in police departments and you may start seeing a new face on the streets. And that face could belong to a pit bull. With the number of them that are in shelters, it’s about time that they were given jobs that they’re good at that eliminate the stereotypes of the breed.
Thousands of pit bulls are euthanized every year, so it’s great that the Animal Farm Project is taking it upon themselves to help train these animals so that they can give to society. They’re just as capable of doing the job as any German Shepherd or Belgian Malinois, and it gives them a new life where they can feel fulfilled and loved.

It also helps to save the department money in obtaining these German Shepherds to train them, as these pit bulls are all shelter dogs. Share away, people.
