Dogs who have good homes are abandoned almost every single day for a variety of reasons, but there are always better alternatives than dumping them by the road. Perhaps they don’t want to pay the surrender fee, but it’s a small price to pay to ensure that an animal is kept safe.
But not for this pooch. A homeowner discovered this poor dog in a crate, abandoned near his property, and he alerted animal control officers. The dog was found covered in untreated mange and mites, and was also exposed to direct sunlight throughout the day. There was no food or water either, so the poor animal would have likely died very quickly.

Thankfully, the one-year old pit mix has been taken in to recover from her ordeal while the authorities are asking anyone to come forward with any information they have on who may have owned the dog originally. Anyone with information about this is requested to call the Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control at (561) 233-1200. Share away, people.
