This isn’t just gross, it’s a terrible health hazard. Not only have the owners of these filth-filled homes been hurt just because of the overwhelming mess, but they usually have a menagerie of animals who live with them. We know that hoarding is an illness, but it’s always difficult to feel empathy when you see the lasting health problems that the individuals – and their pets – have to endure. Especially when animals are involved, a certain amount of cleaning up is absolutely essential, people! So a herd of happy elephants were walking through the grasslands of Africa discussing the kind of leaves they had eaten and what they were going to eat tomorrow when suddenly one of the smallest member of their herd fell into a deep hole and couldn’t come out on its own. Not only did the baby elephant fall deep, he also bumped his head and because the herd couldn’t do anything, they decided to go back into the forest. The poor baby waited and waited for a miracle to happen and just as the day was about to end, a miracle did happen when an amazing group of humans showed up. Although it was difficult, the humans were able to get him out of the hole and after a checkup, they determined that apart from a tiny scratch on his head, the baby was okay and ready to go back into the wild. Humans love cute things, from stuffed toys, to hello kitty, to different animals. There are many animals that exhibit cute behavior and demeanor. You might think of Panda or penguins, but one nature lover found a different clown, a squirrel, and he did find one of the funniest examples of why eating moderately is also recommended to animals – and possibly one of the cutest too. With the squirrels’ natural tendency to eat anything edible that it gets it paws on, they deserve the title of a nature’s clown. This nature lover placed a bird feeder on his deck, with the intention of attracting little critters on his yard. When he got back after a few hours, he could not stop laughing. Take a look at this! A man called Eduardo Rodriguez was walking on the streets of Granada, Spain when he came across an extremely malnourished 10 month old puppy who desperately needed help. He could see that the puppy was too thin that without help, it was obvious that her organs would fail and because she was so weak, she could barely stand. Rodriguez knew that he had to help her and maybe that was the reason he was there in the first place. Instead of turning away the man brought her to his rescue center and named her Barilla. The poor pup weighed only 16 pounds and because she was too weak, the staff hooked her up to a drip. As weeks passed Barilla began gaining weight, her body began filling out, she could stand and no one could believe it! Take a look at this video! Barilla’s transformation is almost magical isn’t it?! If you live in a rural area, or near the woods, you’ve probably witnessed a wildfire or two. It can definitely get scary if that fire gets too close to your home, but imagine how absolutely terrifying it is for the animals who actually live there! The forest, or jungle is their home, and the fire displaces entire groups of creatures. This has to be the single most devastating event in their lives. Well, this happened to this orangutan, who was found by the people at International Animal Rescue (IAR) on a burned out banana plantation. This 20-year-old orangutan needed months of therapy and care in order to recover completely, and while it had been a long journey to full recovery, he was finally ready to go back to the forest. Animals do know how to get themselves into trouble and its really not their fault, it’s not like they know what they’re about to do would be dangerous. In 2014 a heartbreaking photo began going viral on the internet – a photo a a bear with his head stuck in a bucket. While this photo was going viral a couple, Dean and Samantha, found out that the bear’s head had been stuck in the bucket for nearly 2 months. They HAD to do something. With the help of other people, Dean and Samantha began their mission to free the poor bear. Rescuing a bear isn’t an easy job and because his head was stuck it was more dangerous for people because the bear would be scared and he may swipe his paw which could injure them. Ecuador isn’t usually the first place that comes to mind as far as earthquakes are concerned, but they just had one and it was a doozy! This 7.8 earthquake was deadly in this town completely unprepared for the devastation that earthquakes can bring. None of the buildings are made to withstand such sharp and prolonged shaking, so many of the deaths that happened had to do with the architecture crumbling and trapping people inside, or worse. Immediately following such a catastrophic event, the first thing that people do is scramble to find relatives and loved ones in the rubble – finding survivors is vitally important. How many of you visited the past week? Past month? Past year? Yes most, if not all, of us. I recently went to the zoo and almost fell asleep seeing the tortoise walk two meters to it’s cabbage. There are times in our lives that we need help to use some of the most innovative technologies, no don’t deny it! You know those rotating doors? The first time I had to use them, I went around and round in circles at least five times before I learned how to get off without falling over. Not only that, the escalators also gave me a rough time, trust me, and sometimes they still do. LOL But this post isn’t about rotating doors or escalators, it’s about a doggy door! When two dogs meet each other for the first time, they can bond almost instantly, but what remains to be seen is whether this bond remains intact amidst horrible living conditions. For this two fur balls, life was a test and the outcome was either pass, or fail. Either way they were determined that whatever the outcome, they will try to be together for as long as possible. When the Humane Society International (HSI) came to rescue them and other dogs, they saw the bond that Snow, a golden retriever, and Noel, a mixed breed dog shared. Their connection was so strong that despite being free, Noel refused to leave Snow’s side even when she was tied by a leash. Now they’re reunited, watch their reaction below! If you think that only humans get bullied, its time we all learned the sad truth – even animals get bullied and its not pretty. Lamont, a depressed mixed breed senior is suffering right now at the Fulton County Animal Services facility in Atlanta, Georgia and he needs your help. During his stay at the animal facility, Lamont has become more depressed, and rightly so, because he doesn’t know when he’d go home. Earlier this week the Facebook page , Susie’s Senior Dogs, stated that Lamont had become unresponsive because he’s extremely depressed and as if that’s not enough the senior dog is being bullied by other resident dogs. He has since been moved into a kennel with other seniors, but of course that’s not what Lamont wants – he wants a home and a loving family. Lamont is a 7 year old 48 pound retriever mix who is very affectionate and loves being close to people. Now I’m sure you don’t quite understand what I’m talking about, but let me tell you, if there’s one animal, beside a dog, who’s really protective of her babies, its a cat. How many of you agree? This cat here is going to force you to see cats in an entirely different way. What started out on the pavement, ended up on a thin branch, ended up epic. This cat started climbing a tree, not by herself, but with her baby IN her mouth. Yes and if you keep watching till the end, a few seconds before the end, your heart is going to skip a bit. Okay, I’ve personally never seen this happening, ever. My dog wouldn’t do this, and won’t allow me to do it for myself either! So this pup was chilling out in the living room when all of a sudden he barks softly to let his mommy know that he’s ready. Ready for what, you ask? Well, ready to become blanket burrito, of course! Mommy asks him if he’s ready and then lays out the blanket. As soon as that’s don,e the dog circles the blanket, finds his perfect spot and instantly plops down to become a burrito. His mommy that carefully wraps him up and there, all nice and cozy! I’m not sure why he wants to be wrapped up, but it’s definitely got to with being comfortable! For a dog named Drove, the day felt like any other at the shelter. He lay on his comfy pillow, curled up in a nap, just like he had so many times in the past six months he'd been there. He couldn't possibly have known that this afternoon would be different — and that his new parents were waiting right outside to meet him. Drove came to the Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby (HSM&S) in October after its cruelty investigator found him tied up in an abandoned house. The terrier mix, who's now 5, quickly became popular with the shelter staff. "One of my favorite things about him is how, if you're sitting there petting him and you stop, he'll nudge your hand to get you to keep petting him," Katie Pemberton, marketing and communications manager at the HSM&S, told The Dodo. Sometimes, the most beautiful dogs are just born under a bad sign. Like Tully, a 77-pound pit bull who is all about the love. Just not at all about the kennel. But such was Tully's luck to be picked up as a stray on the streets of Long Island and brought to the local shelter. His howling disdain for being in any space with a gate was such a severe issue, it may have even been the end of him. "He just did not do well," Elyse Giurco, founder of Road to Home Rescue Support , tells The Dodo. "Some dogs can handle being kenneled. Some cannot. He did not do well." Still, Tully would spend too many months in the kennel he loathed so much — until Giurco heard about the dog who refused to be locked up. Interspecies relationships are often quite cute to watch. There’s no amount of love held back when animals get together, whether it’s as siblings or foster parents for babies in need. Appearances and species mean nothing to these animals. These two dalmatians certainly stepped up to the plate when they were presented with a small handful of baby kittens that were without their mother. These spotted foster parents were exactly what these felines needed, as they crawl up and snuggle next to them, eager to get attention from one or the other. The canines do well as parents, providing kisses and warmth to their new foster babies. Take a look at this video!
