Nature can often be pretty inconsistent with the design of its creature, and almost always, it is trying to confuse us who are studying and scrutinizing it. Just look at millipedes and centipedes. They look to be very similar animals, but they are in fact from entirely separate species! Well, here’s another animal who’s seemingly evolved just to throw us all off.
The Hemeroplanes triptolemus is a type of caterpillar, but you probably wouldn’t guess that by just taking one quick glance at it. At first this animal looks exactly like a snake! In fact, the other way that you can tell it isn’t is by looking carefully and noticing that it has feet, an adaption that snakes definitely don’t have.
