Recently a baby otter of the Marina 9 family (so named by Singapore’s otter watching community) was separated from his family. He was only six weeks old. Patrick Ng, a retiree who lives in the area, witnessed the little baby struggling to stay afloat in the waters. So he did the only thing that he could do — Patrick dove into the water to save the baby.
The otter, named Toby, was taken to the Wildlife Reserves Singapore, and there they gave him all the care and attention that he needed to grow and be healthy. The bottle fed the tiny pup until he was big enough to take care of himself. Then, of course, it was time to return Toby to the wild. So, they loaded him up and took him out to a beach, and when he was released his whole family came running up to him!
