They Found A Dog Sitting Outside Their Shelter. Then When They See The Note? I’m In Tears.

On Tuesday, the Humane Society of Tampa Bay posted a picture of a dog and a note that were left at the shelter after hours. The note explains that the dog, Genie, is paralyzed from her hips to her hind legs. Her previous owner tried to manage Genie’s pain, but she knew that Genie needed surgery.

It read, “Please help my Genie. Genie (her name) is paralyzed from I believe her hips to her hind legs. I tried to manage her pain with medication from her vet but they only ease her pain and she needs surgery. I cannot afford so I ask that the Animal Health Center heal her and find her a loving forever home. Thank you.”

Because she couldn’t afford the surgery she opted to leave Genie with the Humane Society, who she knew who try their hardest to get Genie the car that she desperately needs. The Humane Society has vowed to do just that.

Many have reached out asking that Genie’s previous owner gets to retain custody of her dog after the surgery, but the Humane Society has no idea who left Genie. Still, they will try to find a good and loving home for the dog, no matter who’s home that may be in the end. Share away, people.

This "festival" is an event that starts on June 21st of every year during the summer solstice and it lasts for 10 long horrifying days in which 10,000–15,000 dogs (as well as cats) are tortured and then consumed. However, it is estimated 25 million dogs are stolen, sold, bought, and eaten every year with the illegal dog and cat meat trade. A larger percentage of these dogs consist of pets stolen right from their loving families. The rest of the dogs are captured strays from the streets and some raised in dog farms.
