Baby Horse Is Orphaned At Birth. But Then SHE Lies Down Next To Her… Amazing!

I learned that you can tell what emotions a may horse be feeling by looking at his ears. The only one I remember is that if their ears are pinned against their heads, the horse is angry! But horses are can experience grief too. Dr. Patrick Brogan is a horse fertility specialist from the Netherlands, and he founded the company Equiception.

Less than one week ago, Zindita gave birth to a foal at Equiception, but unfortunately, her foal didn’t survive. Zindita’s own life was in danger during the birth because the baby was upside down, but Dr. Brogan was able to save her life.

Despite all his efforts the baby was stillborn. Zindita was devastated. Just two days after Zindita lost her baby, another foal was born to a Tolanda, and she had died from complications during labor, leaving behind the foal.

The doctors at Equiception decided to see if the two horses could bond and be a family. They introduced Zindita to the foal on June 10th, she and the foal made an instant and strong connection!

The picture of the two taken just an hour after they were introduced went viral. The two looked like they were mother and daughter and Zindita started to groom the foal and kept her close! The filly was named Listen Good (Feel Good x Tolanda).

Dr. Brogan said it is rare for a mare to accept another foal with such love; most mares will be aggressive to foals that are not their own. But, Zindita fell in love with the foal instantly!
