After hearing the case about an emaciated dog in Fayetteville, North Carolina, a woman wasn’t found guilty. The dog had to be humanely euthanized. The woman, Stephanie Bates was looking at felony animal cruelty after her three-year-old boxer named Bruno was put down.
A Cumberland County Superior Court judge wasn’t able to find enough evidence to uphold that charge, however, and Bates was found not guilty. Bruno had been diagnosed with gastrointestinal issues in 2013. Bruno was taken to the veterinarian several months later, but he had not improved. A year later, Bates asked for Bruno to be put down, but the vet refused. Bruno was later surrendered to the Cumberland County Animal Control.

He was so starved that he couldn’t stand. After having a cardiac arrest, Bruno was euthanized in early 2015. In the end, the jury decided that Bruno would have died no matter how much care he received. Share away, people.
